In Singing with Style: How Pop Becomes Jukebox, students will explore the unique vocal techniques and stylistic elements required for musical theater singing and how they transform traditional pop songs into Broadway-ready performances. Throughout the course, students will select a pop song and learn how to "jukeboxify" it—adapting the song with musical theater vocal techniques, phrasing, and dramatic expression. By the end of the class, students will not only improve their vocal range and performance skills but also gain a deeper understanding of how to infuse pop songs with the flair and storytelling of the musical theater world.
